PhD in Fine Arts from the University of Dundee, Scotland, Dan Norton is artist and researcher who studied Fine Art at the Glasgow School of Art and Electronic Imaging at the University of Dundee. He has exhibited internationally since 1999, and taught in Universities in Spain, Germany, UK, and Croatia. He has supervised final degree projects at the University of Dundee and the Autonomous University of Barcelona.
His has represented Scotland at the Venice Biennale and Spain at the European Parliament in Brussels with his work with the Joan Brossa Foundation. His works are included in the British Council Collection amongst other, and have been exhibited throughout Europe, North and South Americas, and China.
His work developed digital technologies in his works since 1994 and has worked at computer labs in London (British Library) and Barcelona (Computer Vision Centre).
His areas of research have included nonlinear cinema, human-computer interaction, generative interfaces for digital collections, and Computer Vision.
He co-produced Waka Espai d’Art, an independent art gallery in Palma, from 2009 to 2017, where he was part of the curatorial team for over 40 exhibitions.
He is currently the Coordinator of the Fine Arts Degree at ADEMA, University of the Balearic Islands, Spain
