Dan Norton holds a PhD in Fine Art from University of Dundee and studied Fine Art at Glasgow School of Art before specialising in Electronic Imaging at the University of Dundee. Active internationally since 1999, his practice combines contemporary art, digital technologies, and research-driven experimentation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Norton has taught at universities in Spain, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Croatia, and has supervised final degree projects at the University of Dundee, the Autonomous University of Barcelona, and the University of the Baleric Islands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His work has been presented internationally across Europe, North and South America, and China. He represented Scotland at the Venice Biennale and Spain at the European Parliament in Brussels through his collaboration with the Joan Brossa Foundation. His works are included in the British Council Collection, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Since the mid-1990s, Norton has incorporated digital technologies into his artistic practice, working with institutions and research environments including the British Library in London and the Computer Vision Centre in Barcelona. His research interests include nonlinear cinema, human\u2013computer interaction, generative interfaces for digital collections, and computer vision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Based in Mallorca, Norton co-founded and co-directed Waka Espai d\u2019Art in Palma between 2009 and 2017, where he formed part of the curatorial team responsible for more than 40 exhibitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He is currently Coordinator of the Fine Arts Degree at ADEMA, affiliated with the University of the Balearic Islands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
